Dodhia Synthetics Partners with Orb Energy to Cut Costs and Carbon with 600kWp Solar Installation

600kWp rooftop solar system offsets over 550 tonnes of CO2 annually, generating 800,000+ units of clean energy and saving over ₹60 lakhs per year

Dodhia Synthetics, a leading textile manufacturing company, has teamed up with Orb Energy, India’s leading solar energy solutions provider, to install a 600kWp rooftop solar power system at its manufacturing facility. This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in Dodhia’s commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.

The 600kWp rooftop solar system generates over 800,000 units of clean solar electricity annually. This substantial reduction in reliance on grid power is expected to offset over 750 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions each year, directly contributing to India’s sustainability goals. The installation offers notable economic benefits, with Dodhia Synthetics projected to save ₹60 lakhs (~USD 70,000) annually on electricity costs. The system’s payback period is just three years, making it an economically viable investment.

Damian Miller, Co-founder & CEO of Orb Energy, said, “Dodhia Synthetics’ adoption of solar power exemplifies the growing trend of Indian manufacturers embracing clean energy for both environmental and financial advantages. At Orb Energy, we strive to make solar energy accessible and impactful for businesses, and this project clearly demonstrates the benefits of aligning vision with action.”

Mr. S.S. Negi, Electrical & Instrumentation Head at Dodhia Synthetics, shared his experience, stating “One of the good things about Orb Energy is their excellent service. Additionally, the system is generating nearly 3.7 units per kilowatt, and I am satisfied”

In addition to the financial benefits, the solar initiative has strengthened Dodhia’s brand image among sustainability-conscious clients and investors, who increasingly prioritize ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) metrics. The system’s consistent performance ensures reliable energy supply without disrupting the manufacturing processes critical to the textile industry.

With solar adoption gaining momentum in both commercial and industrial sectors, the success of the Dodhia project serves as a benchmark for other industries seeking to reduce emissions, enhance energy security, and future-proof their operations.

With over 350 MW installed, Orb Energy is driving solar adoption across India’s SME sector, targeting 1 GW of installations by 2030.
